Changing Parkinson’s leads PDNextSteps, a program offering exercise and community support to improve life for those with Parkinson’s. We partner with local groups like The Naz in Grove City and Rock Steady Boxing in Youngstown to provide fitness opportunities. In 2023, we funded What I Didn’t Say, a play by Matthew Moore about living with Parkinson’s, which has been performed over 25 times for audiences including OhioHealth and Ohio State University.
Our annual 5K in Powell, Ohio, supports both local efforts and the Michael J. Fox Foundation, to which we’ve contributed $186,000. Alongside funding research, we focus on education and empowerment through initiatives like the First Step Parkinson’s Kit, The Secret Life of Parkinson’s podcast, and annual awareness campaigns. We also support Fox Foundation events by sharing resources and building community connections.
Through these partnerships, we are creating opportunities for those affected by Parkinson’s to stay active, connect with others, and access vital support. There are numerous ways to get involved, from participating and volunteering to sponsoring these life-changing initiatives.
